Formed in 2012, France-based Lpc primarily has been a home for textured, atmospheric downtempo music, but this craftily put together EP crosses the line of 124 BPM and goes higher, so it's appropriate that we give it a mention in our publication.

    The recently formed Parisian duo Mas deliver a live performance cut in 5 tracks backed by remixes from eexxppoann and Yuji Kondo, all similar in sounding but highly detailed and enriched with both back- and foreground minutiae. Syncopated drum patterns, suspenseful samples of foreshadowing strings and exhilarating, soprano-type choral singing, properly filtered, unintelligible whispers, softly rumbling depths of oceanic darkness and constant tides of calefacient white noise make this EP the sinister music for the nights of full moon.
