Male Intellectis - Rituality

Rituality is a first release of Berlin-based, underground-aimed techno act Male Intellectis.

The first number, Acid Steps, is a 140 BPM, oldschool, three-minute, breakbeat/big beat type of introduction with an acidic bassline reminiscent of early tracks from... The Prodigy? It appears so. Moving on to Ballet Satanic. We're welcomed with a raw acid beat which is soon joined by, that's right, more acid, or rather, a catchy, acid-shaped bassline pitching up and down, relentless 4x4 kick pattern and syncopated arrangement of hats running at 128 BPM. After some reverberated-unitelligible-lyrics-turned-into-short-introduction, the appearance of the 4-note, moderately distorted acid bassline loop reveals that the tempo on Erectus Tribalism hasn't changed, but the tone has been switched from major to minor key, and the breaths of digital wind along with syncopated wooden kicks and tambourines paint the dystopian landscape of emptiness and desolation. Rain Dance 010101 brings back the groovy acid rhythms, with syncopated kick drum and high hats patterns, tribalistic toms, panned and reverberated horns and bits of vocals samples thrown into the mix - also at 128 BPM.

If you're into analog+acid sound and The 90's Prodigy production, then you should give this EP a shot.
